Moved In (A mini-Condo Tour)

My parents decided it was time to sell their house, so it was time for K & I to find a new place so they could move into the condo we were renting from them. We had been thinking about it for a while, especially because we weren’t allowed to have pets in our old place, and we were really itching to adopt a new kitty.

At first, K and I were looking for houses, but as most people, we were locked out of the market because of cost. Although I will say, I’m very happy with the place we got because it’s nice and cosy, plus it’s finally a place we can call our home.

To start off, I love the fact that were quite high up. We have a pretty great view, and a nice balcony, so whenever I’m writing music or writing an article for one of the sites I can work outside, or at least looking at the outdoors.

We have a pretty small living room, especially compared to our old place, but with the help of some storage towers my sister left behind before moving to England, we got to bring all of our important stuff and didn’t lose too much of our space.

Excuse the mess since we’re still unpacking the final pieces. and still trying to figure out where we should put everything.

I think our favourite thing is the fact that K & I finally get our own working spaces since in the old place we shared an office which tended to get… cramped. Although, I do feel a bit bad that he’s out in the living room, and I get my own room, but he’s only at the computer for a few hours a day anyway.

We’ve got a really nice kitchen with a great island, although the appliances are very outdated, but that’s an easy fix as soon as we pay off our expenses. I would say, this is my favourite part of the layout of our place and actually one of the main reasons we picked it.

Our washrooms are pretty big (funny enough the guest washroom is bigger than the ensuite), although we’re a bit nervous about the plumbing since it’s Kitec Plumbing, so we may have to do renovations just in case. But again, least of our concerns with such a nice place!

We have a fairly large bedroom, which is a great trade-off for a smaller living room.

As you can tell, we’re not huge fans of making beds and Beau likes to push his toys into one corner. And Blub finally has a safe space to live! Welcome home fella! Although the room isn’t big enough for two dressers, so we ended up using some of those towers for our socks and intimates which is actually a much easier way to sort and organize and I wish we had done it sooner.

And finally the room I’m going to be spending most of my time in… my office!

I’m really grateful K was on board with letting me have my own space. I find it really difficult to write with people around or get work done, so luckily now I can easily shut myself out to focus.

My parents also had an awesome desk we split up into pieces so I’d have ample space to work and record music on. Love how sleek it looks, now I just have to make sure I take good care of it so I can keep it that way.

I don’t think I missed anything really… That’s our new place, and I’m so happy in it! I’m ready to discover our new neighbourhood, and I can’t wait to make new memories in it! Hopefully, this one we stay in for a long time, well… unless we move to England first 😉 That would be an awesome trade-off!
