With Oasis Love now being over, I have some time on my hands and am itching to start a new project. Tonight all I could do was listen to old tracks of mine, specifically from Distant Star. I know I mentioned in my last blog that I was getting down on myself with music, but that’s not going to change unless I actually try hard for it.
Distant Star was something I was very proud of, and there are still so many songs that I absolutely adore on the album… actually songs that were featured in Oasis Love. So many songs on that album stretched my skill set, and I can’t believe how intricate some of my instrumentation was at 18 years old.
I just got a new laptop, since my sound design laptop kicked the dust a couple days ago, and the first thing I’ve done is download some music software to get back in action. No more putting music aside, it’s time I take this super seriously.
Like Damien, from Oasis Love, music is my life. I love writing music. I love playing music. I love singing music and I can’t keep holding myself back.
I’ll keep you all updated on how things are going and try to post more regularly on this blog about what it is I’m working on, but by the end of 2018 I want an album out for Oasis Love. Hold me to it, please. I don’t want to keep putting it on the backburner.
Here’s to a keeping my art alive, and here’s to releasing new content.
