✘ Thoughts of A Stranger

The thoughts of a 30-something year old

Dance the Soap Away

I’ve recently downloaded a few apps to my phone to keep me a bit more active. Well, one of them is the video game Pokémon Go, which my partner pretty much begged me to get back into. The other is Google Fit, which I downloaded since the integration of the two.

Being someone who has struggled with weight for a number of years I’m back in the boat where I’ve gained between 10-15 pounds in the past two months. Pretty insane, very unhealthy. I’ve let myself go in regards to keeping on tasks like cooking and have definitely been eating way too late (since I come home from school around 11PM daily.)

Although I haven’t really figured out how to make sure my food consumption is controlled, I have been trying to make sure that I’m as active as I can be.

I’ve been walking between my schools, which I’ve learned is about 6km thanks to the google fit app and I’ve been trying to stay active while doing chores.

What I mean by this is… today I danced my ass off to Andrew Bayer so I could get my chores done. And while I don’t believe how the Google Fit app counts Calories or what movements are the best for you, I will say it’s nice to use an app that tracks your movement in general.

I’ve been treating it similar to a video game. While I know I’m not getting the best exercise I could be getting, I am getting some and hopefully, it starts encouraging me to get more.

I want to get back into my daily warmups, my daily stretch routine and make sure my body feels top notch again. There’s no point in delaying it.

So here’s to washing dishes dancing today, and getting back into a daily exercise routine tomorrow!
